Events for December 13, 2023 - April 8

To support the charity ‘Jeans for Genes’, pupils are invited to wear jeans instead of their usual trousers, skirts or pinafores next Friday. Trainers can be worn, but the upper part of uniform should still be worn please (polo shits and Waterloo jumpers). There will be a special assembly next week, to tell the children all about the charity. A donation of £1 is requested, if your child would like to wear their jeans (a maximum of £2 per family) all of which will go directly to the charity. On Friday 7th October, we will be holding a non-uniform day in return for a donation. Street Angels have politely requested the following items – all of which are non-perishable. Coffee Sugar Long-life milk Pot Noodles Tins of soup Tins of tuna Tins of meat (e.g. corned beef) Shower gel Shampoo Conditioner Please bring any of the suggested items above into school on the morning of Friday 7th October. On Friday 18th November, Waterloo is once again proud to be supporting Children in Need. We are going to mark the event with a non-uniform day in school in return for a suggested donation of £1. The children are invited to wear their own clothes and if possible, include items of clothing that are yellow or ‘spotty’ – or both!

The Reception children and their staff team have been working incredibly hard over the last few weeks to put together their Wriggly Nativity. The children have loved learning the songs and trying on their costumes. There will be two performances for families of the Reception children, which will take place on Wednesday 7th December (Oak Class) and Thursday 8th December (Cherry Class). Both performances will start at 9:30am in the Sports Hall. Christmas parties for Year 1, Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6 Christmas parties are another highlight of the festive period and the children are already looking forward to them. On their party day, the children are encouraged to come to school in non-uniform/party clothes.

The children and staff in Nursery are looking forward to sharing their Christmas sing-a-long with parents and carers on Wednesday 14th December at 2:30pm.
