Maths in EYFS is delivered through adult-guided learning activities and continuous provision – all working towards the Early Learning Goals.
KS1 and KS2 have daily maths sessions, covering all areas of the 2014 National Curriculum, using the White Rose Mastery scheme. Pre-teach sessions prepare children for upcoming maths topics – to support less-able children or stretch the more-able. Reactive support is offered within and beyond the class lesson. Children progress from using concrete apparatus in maths sessions, to more abstract formal methods of calculation, leading to problem-solving activities. iPads are often used in KS2 (Classkick, Education City etc) as pupils have 1:1 devices.
