Computing

In EYFS, our children learn about technology through Understanding the World. They investigate the uses of technology (eg iPads) and use roamers as an introduction to coding.

In KS1, children use roamers to teach the 2014 National Curriculum requirements (Y2 using more advanced hardware). Coding is progressive through these roamer activities. KS2 use ‘Espresso Coding’ to cover the coding elements of computing, and individual lessons to cover the rest of the curriculum. We are introducing ‘Makey Makey’ hardware to years four and five, to bring an element of fun and extension to the Computing curriculum. In Year Six, children make animated films using iPad apps such as iMovie, Green Screen and I Can Animate. E-Safety lessons take place at the start of each term, based on the ‘Think You Know’ website.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner content_placement=”middle”][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][us_single_image image=”1327″ align=”center” onclick=”custom_link” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thinkuknow.co.uk%2F||target:%20_blank|” animate=”afc”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][us_btn text=”Think U Know” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thinkuknow.co.uk%2F||target:%20_blank|” color=”white” align=”center” icon=”fa-chevron-right” iconpos=”right” el_class=”white-button”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][us_separator type=”invisible”][us_single_image image=”1130″ size=”full” align=”center” animate=”afc”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
