PE & Sports Premium
Physical education and school sport are an important and valued part of life at Waterloo Primary Academy. We are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and to providing children with a wide range of positive experiences through high-quality PE lessons, active lunchtimes, after-school clubs and extra-curricular sporting opportunities.
All primary schools receive additional government funding each year through the Primary PE and Sport Premium. This funding is designed to make sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education, sport and physical activity (PESPA) offered to pupils.
At Waterloo, we use this funding carefully and purposefully. We have a clear action plan in place which outlines how the funding is spent and how it is used to strengthen provision across the school. Our focus is on building staff confidence and expertise, widening opportunities for pupils to be active, and ensuring that improvements made now continue to benefit children in the future.
We regularly review the impact of our PE and sport provision and reflect on previous spending to ensure the funding is used effectively. This includes evaluating how provision supports pupils’ physical development, wellbeing and enjoyment of physical activity, and ensuring access for all children.
Oversight of the PE and Sport Premium is provided through the Trust and Academy Council, ensuring funding is used responsibly and in a way that best supports our pupils. Full details of our PE and Sport Premium funding, including how it is spent and the impact it has, can be found in the reports below.
